The name of the incorporated association is the Bayside Women in Business (BWIB) (the association).
The aim of Bayside Women in Business is to help local women improve their social and professional networks, as well as learn how to build up their businesses. The members of the Bayside Women in Business provide a great source of information on topics relevant to running a small business.
We all love our Bayside and we want our businesses here to succeed!
There are two membership types, “Full Member” and “Subscriber”
New Full Membership
An application for “Full Membership” is completed online and payment taken at the time of application. The full membership will be approved by a BWIB committee member. Full Membership includes the following:
- Website Directory Listing
- Discount for BWIB events
- Opportunity to contribute to the BWIB Newsletter
Full members will be charged annually
New Subscriber membership
An applicant for “Subscriber” membership of the association can be completed online by the applicant and is automatically accepted. A “Subscriber” will receive all communications from BWIB and can attend BWIB events at the full price.
When membership ends
A member may resign from the association by unsubscribing from the association mailing list or advising the committee by email to email@example.com.
Register of members
The Membership registers are maintained in the BWIB MailChimp account.
Prohibition on use of information on register of members
A member of the association must not
- use information obtained from the register of members of the association to contact, or send material to, another member of the association for the purpose of advertising for political, religious, charitable or commercial purposes; or
- disclose information obtained from the register to someone else, knowing that the information is likely to be used to contact, or send material to, another member of the association for the purpose of advertising for political, religious, charitable or commercial purposes.
Membership of management committee
The management committee consists of a secretary, treasurer and chairperson and several committee members. New Members are appointed to the committee by general agreement of the current committee members depending on the current needs of the committee and what skills the proposed member can offer. Members of the committee are added to the Facebook Group – BWIB Team and this is used as a communication vehicle to distribute information to the committee.
BWIB committee members receive free Full Membership of BWIB.
Resignation, removal or vacation of office of management committee member
A committee member can resign by notifying the other committee members.
Meetings of management committe
The management committee may meet and conduct its proceedings as it considers appropriate. These meetings may be in person, online or via telephone link
Minutes of management committee meetings
The Management Committee will appoint a committee member to take minutes at each meeting and a summary is circulated to all committee members after each meeting.
Funds and accounts
The funds of the association must be kept in an account in the name of the association in a financial institution decided by the management committee, all payments will need to be approved by 2 signatories, either online or cheque.
Records and accounts are kept by the treasurer using an online accounting software package.
All amounts must be deposited in the financial institution account as soon as practicable after receipt.
All expenditure must be approved or ratified by the BWIB committee.
General financial matters
On behalf of the management committee, the treasurer must, as soon as practicable after the end date of each financial year, ensure a financial statement for its last reportable financial year is prepared.
The income and property of the association must be used solely in promoting the association’s objects and exercising the association’s powers.
The management committee must ensure the safe custody of books, documents, instruments of title and securities of the association.
The end date of the association’s financial year is 30th June in each year.
Alteration of rules
These rules may be amended, repealed or added to by a special resolution carried at a committee meeting.
