Our Values …
Objectives of BWIB
The Objects for which the Bayside Women in Business Inc. is established is:-
Connect – Educate – Empower
When you’re a member of BWIB you’re part of a community of like-minded women who support each other, learn from each other and give back. It is our hope that each individual action within this community will create a ripple effect that enhances the lives of women on all levels – their success in business, their social and professional networks, their wellbeing and their ability to positively impact on their environments. And what we care most about – making the world a better place for women.
We do that by providing strong leadership and a real commitment to understanding small business issues for women, by organising events and creating platforms and opportunities so you can engage in conversations that you have never had before about your inspirations, your successes and challenges. This platform also gives our members an opportunity to promote their business through their business profile, or through the contribution of content such as articles, discussions, business offers or events.
We have found that the deepest relationships form when you invest time away from the stresses of your day to day business and family environment and get the opportunity to learn and reflect in the company of like-minded women. You will meet some people you may not have crossed paths with and consume content that challenges and inspires your thinking, and ensures you to feel valued, have fun and feel empowered to make a difference.
In BWIB there is no hard sell and no pressure to become clients or customers. We provide a nurturing environment, positive experiences and a platform for you to share about your business, and when you attend and contribute, you’ll be top of mind when your customer is ready for your product or to refer you to someone who is.
We do that by providing connections within the membership and greater business community through networking, education, visibility, voice and empowerment events, forums and platforms using face to face and technology as it evolves.
Our Events …
What we Do
At Bayside Women in Business, we have quite a few events and functions that can help you connect with fellow businesses on the bayside. Networking can help your business grow.
BWIB Coffee Networking Event
This networking event is held once every month either on a Tuesday or Thursday morning from 9.30 am and offers the opportunity to meet like-minded people to help improve and build your business and social networks. We love to welcome new members, so feel free to also invite along a friend or two! Everyone will be given the opportunity to introduce their business to the group with a short 30-second introduction followed by time for some fantastic networking, so remember to bring your business cards 🙂 Included in the ticket price is coffee or tea and a slice of cake.
BWIB Evening Networking
Bayside Women In Business (BWIB) is offering evening networking – in recognition that not everyone can make it to networking events during the day. Come along to meet and connect with like-minded people and share your experiences while enjoying the lovely surrounds of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS). Included in the ticket price is a beverage and some nibbles to enjoy. You are also welcome to stay and indulge in a select discount menu provided by RQYS for BWIB event attendees – go ahead and treat yourself! We always welcome newcomers so feel free to invite others or come along and find out what all the fuss is about! Note that this is a mixed event, so you are welcome to bring your male colleagues and connections to join in the fun.
BWIB Round Table Events
Do you want to be involved in a more intimate personal discussion around business? To really have a genuine opportunity to share ideas and thoughts with like-minded women in a small group setting? Then this is the event for you! Bayside Women In Business is excited to introduce Round Table sessions – your opportunity to delve into various themes and share stories and learnings in a facilitated small group of like-minded business owners, all the while developing meaningful connections with them. Numbers are strictly limited so get in quick and secure your attendance! This is a free ticketed event, you will be offered a small lunch on the day.
BWIB Special Events & Expo’s
Our special functions this year includes an International Women’s Day joint function with RQYS in March and our very own Business Expo and Family Fun Day May 2018.
Partnerships & Sponsors …
How we do it
The BWIB Committee
BWIB is organised by a group of dedicated volunteers, who have formed the BWIB committee and donate their time to the group to support Bayside Women in Business. BWIB organises a variety of networking, education and special events all year round. Behind the scenes, administration of the group forms a big portion of the daily day to day running of the group. As is the case for all not for profit organisations there is plenty of work to go around and we are always looking for some additional hands. Volunteering is a great way to make new connections and gain some valuable experience that you can use in your business. Not to mention the exposure you would gain for your business. If you would like the opportunity to add value to Bayside Women in Business, please click on the “I want to volunteer” link to register your interest.
We have negotiated some fabulous partnerships and sponsors for BWIB who are aligned with our values, and our current ‘home’ is the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron at Manly. Look out for, and please support our sponsors. Without these leaders in our local community giving generously of their time and resources, BWIB could not operate at the level it does. In deepest gratitude to you all!
Want to become a sponsor?
If you are local and align with our values and would like to sponsor BWIB, we would love to hear from you, and where accepted, to include your business logo in our promotional material. Please click on the “I want to become a BWIB Sponsor” to register your interest.
